Omakin Lagos started his clothing line in 2007. That was his second year in medical school after a series of interesting events. Being in medical school mandated formal dressing which put him in a slight dilemma as he could not afford good shirts. This dilemma led him to the discovery of a market where he could get good fabrics and tailors to sew, he was impressed with the quality of the shirts made and started nursing the dream of providing the same services to other students in school but the fear of failure numbed him from acting on the ambitions. “I stayed content with showing others how they could get my kind of well tailored shirts until a fateful day when I made some shirts for myself, jokingly marketed it to friends and surprisingly they bought them, all fears disappeared at that instance, my eyes opened to a need craving for attention and I set about meeting the needs immediately”. That whole experience gave birth to Omakin Lagos”.
From his humble beginnings, he started designing, worked on his branding, expanded into other forms of corporate clothing and have not looked back since then. His dream is to produce merchandise of international standards right in Nigeria by Nigerians.
